A Bunch of Thoughts and Stuff (because i just had some coffee)

First of all, sometimes i feel really isolated here. like we live on some sort of island and it's a big effort to get to the main land. it sure was nice to be in illinois (and Texas too, because i haven't seen some of my lifeway friends since we left chicago). so nice to be with people that know me and that i know...where i can just be "me". it was so nice having the buddy times at the stones (although somehow it's never enough time and i always leave thinking "but wait, i want to talk to val more"). and it was great having coffee with carrie (i miss that so much), and all the reinders family time was really nice. speaking of reinders...here are a couple of photos of them from their photo shoot in november :)

oh, and here is a family picture from Christmas

On the way back to PA we stopped at my grandparents house in Indiana. it was kind of sad. my grandma hasn't been doing that well. it seems to me she's starting to give up. she stopped getting her hair done and wearing her teeth. so it was a little shocking to see her at first. i wasn't used to my grandma being that grandma.

I totally get you with the island feeling! We had a great visit home, too, but it was almost bittersweet. Our last night home, we visited with Ron and Jan West and Nikki and Joel. I was in tears when we left, in part because we couldn't stay and in part, because if we hadn't been there, we wouldn't know what we were missing. But too much of the island would only make me cold and hard. I guess I just have to get comfortable with crying.

i know it sucks sometimes -
just want to say your dixon/rockford/everywhere friends are still very much your friends and i know will come visit you too... i know it's kind of hard cause a lot of us are living in the same location now, but i think you should know that we're waiting - after you leave - looking forward to seeing familiar faces and to those moments when nothing especially is going on except the quiet enjoying of each other. i recently found out that the Galena Steak House in Dixon is open late and serves pie and coffee. when you are back in town, we'll get a group of us together to do that if you want, i'll buy :) or the girlies can go out while the guys do babily things.
i hope you're having a good weekend roo

I don't think that I could do what you're doing. I have too much issues living 2 hours from people that mean so much! I already told Zach that we're moving back when he graduates (of course, we'll see what really happens). I can only imagine being That seperated.
